Cindy - I love how you started out our post. I hope this helps continue our circle of friendship - I miss you guys so much.
I took our puppy to the dog park today. I met my friend Michele Reid's brother, Chuck, and his wife, Diane, who have two dogs. Rio (our puppy) had a blast!! She was so tired that two minutes after she got in the car, she was laying down in the back seat and I turned around to see what she was doing and she looked at me like "don't you dare ask me to move...." When we got home, she was in the same position and had peed on the seat and hadn't moved because she was so exhausted. For only being nine weeks old, she is doing really well - knows to sit, come and to "go hurry" which means to pee in the back yard and hurry up about it. At the dog park, I saw the homliest dog I have ever seen - a bedlington terrier. Look it up - it was the wierdest looking dog! So, instead of "tot lots" I'll be at dog parks with our new addition.
I am so looking forward to my visit to Des Moines. I miss all my friends like you would not believe. I miss our kids who aren't here (yes, both of them) but I know this is where we need to be at the moment. Steve really likes his job, the people he works with and the area.
Meredith is adjusting though has had a setback with spraining her ankle at her soccer game on Thursday. It is not the same one she sprained in the spring. Not sure how long she'll be out - she was making friends with the girls on the team but now will probably not be going to practices but will be on the bench at the games. She had been getting a lot of playing time - starting for Junior Varsity - not sure how this will affect her playing time when she gets back to being able to play.
Steve and I went on a bike ride/walk (he rode his bike at his own pace, I walked at my own pace) along the Boise River tonight. It was really pretty in places - people were fly fishing along the way. This area is beautiful in places, and so dry and parched in others. Last week when we were watching Meredith's soccer game, I had to ignore the game, look at the scenery and revel in it. Here we were just watching a soccer game in this beautiful location with mountains surrounding us. Wow!
I get into Des Moines on the 11th. The week before our trip, I am taking care of some things with Kaela (yes, a story behind this), seeing a bunch of other friends and will be ready to go on Friday morning for our trip to Galena! When we get back, I'm heading to Wichita (I think...my sisters and I are in the planning stages of surprising my sister for her 60th birthday) for a few days, then to Lincoln to see Steve's mom, then to Maryville to see Jamie and spend some time with her before I head back to Boise on the 25th. Can't wait to see everyone!!!
